Use Command Prompt to Hide Files and Folders

Working with Windows Command Prompt is an art. Through it, you can troubleshoot various issues and control over your machine. Things you do in normal mode on Windows, can also be done using Command Prompt. And, one of these is Hiding Files and Folders.

In this post, we will illustrate how you can hide folders and files using Command Prompt. The method is easy and simple.

1) Press windowkey+R: Run command dialog box appears. or go to start and click run.

2) Now type “cmd” and hit enter. A command prompt window displays.
Now type attrib +s +h E:\myfolder and hit enter.
The folder “myfolder” will be hidden which cannot be viewed by any search options.

3) To view this folder again, use the same command but replace ‘+‘ with ‘-‘ on both flags ‘s‘ and ‘h’
