When your system experiences DNS spoofing or the server IP address changes, you are likely to face slow internet speed on Windows 8. Consider the following step by step guide to delete DNS cache for increasing internet connection speed:

  1. Log-on to your Windows 8 from Administrator Account
  2. Go to the desktop Windows by clicking on “Desktop” tile from the “Start” screen
  3. Now slide cursor to the right bottom corner of the Windows on desktop screen
  4. Look for “Search” in the displayed options and click on it.
  5. In the Windows “Search” pane, there is a “Apps” category
  6. On this pane, type CMD” in “Apps” sections
  7. A number of results will be displayed on Apps windows in which you are required to right click on “Command Prompt
  8. Now click “Run as administrator” in the displayed advanced options at the bottom of the Window
  9. Now, click on “Yes” in “User Account Control” box to allow Windows to open up command prompt for you.
  10. In the displayed “Command Prompt Windows”, type “IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS” and hit Enter

This will delete the DNS cache. Close command Prompt Window once action is completed.

Delete Temporary Files

Temporary files become a constant burden on PC and suck Internet speed if you do not delete them with time. Therefore, do not forget to get rid of them as soon as possible. It will ultimately put burden off from your browser and hence, the internet will speed up. Here is how you can delete temporary files in Windows 8:

  1. Log on to Windows 8 as an Administrator
  2. Click on “Desktop” tile from “Start” to open up desktop Window.
  3. On the desktop screen, press “Windows key + R” in order to open “Run” box
  4. On this command box, type “%temp%” and press Enter
  5. A new folder i.e. “Temporary Files” will open up in which you are advised to select all files by pressing “CTRL + A simultaneously and then “Delete”.
